I think its bubble algea???

I have what looks like black and dark green balls in my tank. Some are the size of b-b's and others are the size of marbles....some sit in a clump of tiny reddish fuzzy algea and others are simply in the cracks of the rocks. I have looked for a name for these and the closest is bubble algea. Is it a good thing or a bad thing???? Are they harmful to the tank or just UGLY ??

Sounds like Bubble Algae aka Valonia sp. Do a search on those words and you should come up with pics and information.
