I think my tank is cycled. 50%

I think i had my ammonia spike cause i left a cocktail shrimp in there for 5-6 days and took it out when it smelt rank like everyone here said. and i tested my ammonia and it was 0.0. My LFS told me i could get a few inverts so i got 2 peppermint shrimp and so far they are doing great. Do you think that my tank cycled the ammonia properly?

Did you test it while the shrimp was in there? If so, what was the ammonia?

You need more than just ammonia readings to determine whether your tank is cycled - Do you have readings for nitrite and nitrate? Your tank won't be cycled until you KNOW that ammonia has peaked and then dropped, and nitrite has done the same. If you haven't got test kits for at least ammonia nitrite and nitrate you need to get them asap.

water thats why it says 50% my LFS said when ammonia spiked then hit 0 it was safe for crustaceans.
