I vibrate (LOL) Mag 9 what a noise " help "

I can't handle the noise on my mag 9 its about a month old .
it just started to make noise , I put a pad under it , moved it around so not against the glass sump (tank) my mag 7 no problem at all. CAN THERE BE A PROBLEM WITH MAG 9 , I have heard others on this site about it.
Is a rio quiet or should I put an external Quiet One Brand or is in sump better .
Now I just bought a skimmer and it calls for a mag 5 or similar I will not be able to handle this hum. My big problem the tank(90) is in the bedroom.
HELP ON NOISE CONTROL

I know the mag7 used to have problems with a hub or something that would make the impeller rub. Not sure about the mag9. But I would look at the impeller first.
For the quietest external pump look up the Velocity pumps, I have the T-3 that pumps 800 gph at a 3fth on a 90. So quiet you have to put your ear to it to hear it.

yup, any noise problems are almost definitely going to be problems with the impeller. sometimes one of my pumps will make a lot of noise, all i do is take it apart and put it back together again, and when I plug it back in, it's quiet again, works almost every time (assuming nothing is actually broken).
