when i go to my lfs they usually have a bunch of diff clowns. ikf i was to just buy two, and try to buy one big and one small would they pair up or would i be just tryin t get lucky thanks.

Well you shouldn't just pick up two of any ole clownfish out there. For instance I wouldn't pickup a Goldstripe Maroon and try to pair it with an Ocellaris, this usually would result in one dead clownfish.
The best choice you could make is two of the same species, pick them as junvinals and they will --- themselves as they grow.

Thomas712 - your answer was perfect and right on the money. All clownfish start out as males. The strongest and most dominiate male wins the opportunity to become a female. Once they convert to a female, or if the male fish has grown past the juevie phase, they will remain male.
Buy two of the same kind of Clownfish and buy them young and small. You will wind up with a mated pair. Better yet, get them from the same tank so the 2 fish already know each other.

sorry i did mean two of the same type, didnt type it though, my bad. so i could just grab two of the best lookin ones and it would work out?

Two of the best looking ones of the same species, yep, that should work out fine.
