I want a new tank

I am wanting to get a new 75 gallon setup and I was wondering if there is a good site on the internet to check the prices of things like this. I would also like to be able to price the individual parts that I will need to get started so that I can save up to get the stuff. I am going to be doing a fish only setup with maybe a few small pieces of live rock (which I already have). I want to know how much I am going to be spending before I start saving.
Thanks,
Chris

sorry, not allowed to post links to competitors sites...
but if you want to know how much your gonna be spending why not post a list of things you plan on buying and we can give you an idea of what it will cost you and we can email you with the details not allowed here...

Frankly buying a tank on the web is not what I call a good thing to do- why?. What happens if you get it cracked or broken, how much time to get it replaced. Best bet is if you do business with a lfs ask them what percent profit they want to sell you a tank (assuming you want a new one). My lfs charges 10% over his cost for any tank and he normally gets it within a few days (his wholesaler comes on Tuesdays). I have also found some of the big chain petstores that sell tanks have very good prices as they buy large amounts of them (plus they have them there for you to take right home). I really do not know if there are sites that sell tanks and ship them but I think you would be better served to work it out locally (for your piece of mind).

Thanks for your posts guys. Here is the thing. I don't really know exactly what I'm going to need, so I don't know how much I'm looking at spending. I don't want to get the stuff online, I just want to see how much bargaining I can do when I go to the lfs. I also want to make sure I'm not going to be sold something I don't need. Basically, I'm just trying to do my homework before I go into the store and get swindled. I want to make sure that I know what I need and that I'm not paying too much for any of it.
I would also like reccomendations on specific brand names to look for and to stay away from if anyone knows of a site that does reviews on things like this.
Thanks,
Chris

OK, from me working on this, this is what you need, one tank, get it factory pre-drilled with overflow, should only add $35.00 on to the price of the tank, Get the all glass hoods, not the plastic ones, should be $29.00, one sump pump, one heater, and two power heads, that is all you need to get from the local fish store. If your going with a 75 gallong go with the 90 gallon, same length and width, just taller, Oh yeah and a stand. My 90 was $229 drilled, hood was $29.00 Rio 2500 sump pump was $45.00 power heads for $19.00 each Stand about $150.00 next head on over to your local hardware store and spend $20.00 in PVC to plumb your sump, get a sterilite container for wrapping paper for $12.00 for the actual sump, about 20 gallons, and voila! Tank is done except for lighting which you can do for $250.00 for 4 VHO flourescent 48" 440watts total. So that should give you an idea. Because that is exactly what I did.

SweetJesus! Thanks for your reply. Do you by any chance have any links to recources of how to actually set this stuff up? I'm thinking diagrams and stuff like that.

what exactly are you looking for? I used Johnny salts diagram for sump and refugium, and read through DIY pages to use rain gutters as light reflectors, and the stand was my own design. But yeah tell me what exactly your looking to know how to do and i can either take a pic of mine, or point you in the right direction

Would like to know how to set up the sump and the sump pump and also how to set up the protien skimmer and bio balls in the sump. I am a huge newbie to this area.

This is how I did my sump as well, works great. Also if your doing a reef everyone will tell you that you do not need bio balls, if your doing a fish only tank then the bio balls go right above the screen in the diagram.Johnny Salt's Diagram

I know how you feel sea tank. I have finally got a fish my girlfriend likes. I have 5 tanks and out of the 5 tanks she only likes the mandrin goby, scissor tail goby, blonde naso, and my blue star fish. Hopefully your gfwill like yours too. Im also looking at getting a 125-250 tank but I cant find any around here.
