I WANT RARES/EXOTICS

I've noticed that most sites except for this one has a rare/unique/exotic section in their online stores. I don't normally order a lot off the internet, but there are some things that you can hardly (if ever) find in the stores. I have ordered from this site before and think that their shipping is one of the best in the business (not to mention cheap), but I find that their selection is pretty generic. I think that if a rare/unique section was added, they would generate a lot more businsess, not only from me, but I am sure from a lot of enthusiasts. This is just my opinion, but please post a reply if you would order or think that this is a good idea.

I'm with you smiley, but the only thing that I see is the more rare the less likely that swf would have them, because of them not being captive bred. 9 x out of 10 the rares are captured from some reef in the carribean or over seas, which is what most of us want to preserve
Imo it sounds good to have something that not everyone else has ,but somethings are better left in nature ;)

well, we made mistake of going into the LFS's sometimes & seeing rare/unusual fish & then chose to buy it if price is acceptable; only to have it die little later iether because of poor care due to lack of knowlege or it's just too difficult a fish to keep in captivity, but is still made available;
the market is still a LONG way off from captive bred only/mostly...it's just much easier/cheapper to let nature do all the work for us, then go grab what we want...gotta remember that RARE "item" you chose to get will at some point die, making it even more rare

Jakob kinda touched on the reason.The problem with these rare/exotics is that they are VERY hard to keep in captivity,thus they end up dying a fw weeks after purchace.This causes a problem with customer satisfaction...SEE MY POINT???Why sell a fish that will only die,and cause unhappy customers.

well all fishes have to die sooner or later so y not enjoy the memory that u had that fish, u had a fish very few has ever had. but i do agree that some things should be kept in nature, well y dont other things deserve it too? all fish are living things not just the rare and exotic now if there endangered thats a whole nother story

The point is if it cannot be successfully kept in captivity there's no reason to remove it from the wild and have it die prematurely just so we can have a fond memory of a rare fish or coral in our tank. Endangered or not.
