Hello all,
I have a 40 gallon FOWLR in my office and think that the current members would like new playmates. The tank has 35lbs of LR and a crushed coral bottom. I have a Proclear Aquatic Systems wet/dry filter (bioballs) and no skimmer. Currently the aquarium is stocked with:
yellow pygmy angle
yellow tail damsel
lawnmower blenny
skunk cleaner shrimp
fire shrimp
sally lightfoot crab
3 hermit crabs
6 astrea snails
queen conch
cleaner clam
I keep the specific gravity at 1.0245 and I have 0 ammonia, 0 trites, and low trates (5 ppm) which I keep in check with water changes. I feed these guys TetraMarine saltwater flakes and would like to continue keep feedings simple. I plan to convert this aquarium to a reef tank as soon as I can afford appropriate lighting. I have been adding PurpleUp to encourage coraline algae growth (which seems to be working nicely).
The tank appears to be very healty and has no problems with hair algae so it is the perfect time to screw things up by adding new fish! I was thinking of adding a mated pair of clowns or 3-4 small schooling fish to add some behavioral diversity to the tank.
Please reply with your thoughts or suggestions.
Cheers,
Yoss
