I have a tank that is 2 years old.
It is doing very well with fish, lion, chromis, clowns, tang (he was supposed to eat algae !)
It is a 180 w/ lot of live rock that is now covered.
I had luck w/ snails but they were chowed by hermits.
Can anyone tell me (before I waste time and $$$) if I get the hermits out and go with snails, and maybe urchins, will this help ?
I have also tried the lights off thing with limited sucess.
What I want to know is
do lot of snails and urchins help ?
I have ro/di
do water changes and test water for the usual
everything is great except for this darn green algae
Plus it smells !

.."Smells"...That's not a good thing....:nope:
What are you using for filtration...??
What kind of "substrate" are you using...?
Have you thought about a Sump/Fuge with Macros to "compete" for nutrients and limit algae growth in MT...?
Snails, Crabs, Fish can "eat" the stuff, but the real trick is to keep it from growing in the first place...
