I got a notice that I won a $10.00 gift certificate from SWfish....awesome, LOL...I wish I had it a few days ago when I ordered some stuff....I need two FEMALE CB Kuda seahorses (all I ever see are Erectus). Alas nobody seems to have any Kuda girls.

I got a gift code too but I don't have a fish tank.....

Maybe I will get a refractometer for a future tank. lol Everything I had (except my books) was transferred to new owner in 2005 when I moved from the Keys.

It's pretty awesome that you stay on-line here and help with sick fish. I don't think $10.00 will buy much of anything....a few snails maybe, oh wait, with shipping...no. I guess we have to chalk it up to the thought that counts, even if it is just advertising to get us to spend more...I REALLY could have used the $10.00 last week. I need a crystal ball, so I can look into the future.

Yeah, I was thinking of hanging up being a mod after dismantling my tank. That was quite a sad event. But, here I am, still!

Hopefully, the gift is something you can use in the future. I was always making orders when I had my tank. A lot of money sank into my hobby. Goodness, I had even bought a generator and hooked up an RO system.

Hi,

My apologies, I don't know (or don't remember) the circumstances that caused you to dismantle the tank (my memory is not good)... What's holding you up from going ahead and setting up another tank?

And here I thought I was the only one special enough to get the $10 gift. (Sigh)

Beth, I for one am glad you didn't withdraw as a Mod. As a newbie, reading all your threads and posts has answered a lot of questions without having to ask them
. I even printed a few out to save in the research/reference book I'm putting together
. But, before you get a big head or get all mushy on us, I also save info from a few other Mods, Admins and members.

Well, until recently there has just been way too much traveling around. I spent over a year back in my house in Key West, which recently sold...couldn't take care of a tank under those circumstance. I just found having a tank always brought up the question of what to do if I decided to be out of the house for any length of time. I already have snakes that I have those same issues with. But at least the snakes are portable. LOL

Thanks, silverado61.

A snake lady!....I like the non-poisonous ones. LOl...The little ones.... grass, corn and leafnosed snakes (as my list shows, harmless ones only)...but my mother is afraid of all of them, she grew up in West Virginia were the rattle snakes, copperheads and cottonmouths dwell.

I seem to remember that you had a snake once? I actually got my mom to hold one of mine (the more pet-friendly old guy I have). Now, she probably wasn't too comfortable but she was a big animal lover so she did it.

Mother didn't live me then. I lost a small leafnosed I had gotten for myself...the pet store (and none within 100 miles) had pinkies, the only thing the snake would eat and it died, I tried other foods but it just wouldn't eat. After that I had a black rat snake and raised my own mice and rats. The snake got mean (I should have gotten a corn snake), I gave him away...LOL...so I ended up with pet rats and mice.

Mother puts up with my two big fish tanks ... changing tub and spare buckets in the kitchen, and Jellybean (parrot) screaming at dusk (vocalizing). That's enough to subject an old lady to, so I won't purchase anymore "stressful TO HER" pets. She would have more dogs, but as much as I love them, two "small ponies" is enough in this little house.

So what kind of snakes do you keep?
