Ice Cap 660

I have an Icecap 660 running 4 bulbs. One day bang the darn thing stopped working. I replaced the unit and changed the bulbs and nothing. Anybody have any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

Did you check your endcaps? If one comes loose, the whole system shuts down. If you turn the lights on, and it flickers and then shuts off, one of the endcaps is probably ruined and you'll have to replace it. Make sure that you don't have the ballast sitting on top of the tank because the humidity and the salt creep will fry it, that's why they give you so much wiring lol. Check your wiring, something may have disconnected, and like the endcaps, if one is out, it won't work.
If the wires and end cap fiddling doesn't pan out, call Icecap, they're usually pretty good with customer relations in the way of replacing malfunctioning ballasts.
Hope this helps :)

Mary gave good advice. When you say "replaced the unit" do you mean you replaced the ballast? There is also some information on the icecap website for troubleshooting. It covers capping off different wires to isolate where the problem is.

Yep guys I replaced the unit that powers the lights and now I have two but my problem remains so I think you guys are right it must be one of the end caps. Now to find which one is the challenge. I will go to there website and see what gives.

One more thing that you may want to check, because this happened to me:
When the place that I bought the system mounted it in my canopy, someone there put a wire staple through one of the wires in the harness (and had the gaul to try to charge me $20 for having an electrician look at it when it didn't work). If the end caps or bulbs aren't the problem, it may be the harness. If it's stapled in, look for a puncture through a wire.
