Icecap ballast messes up VCR!

Funny thing happened yesterday.
We were sitting down yesterday afternoon to watch a video, and there were these lines all though the tape liek the tracking was off- but no matter how we adjusted the tracking, it was messed up. Figured it was a bad tape- tried a different one- same thing.
After about 10 minutes of messing with cables, etc- it hit me-- this is the FIRST time we have watched a movie in the daytime since i have had my ballast! usually we watch at night, and the lights are off by then.
So- i turned off the icecap- BINGO! no lines!
It makes sense- my wife was really amazed that i figured it out-- it was quite funny!
So- daytime movie watching, the fish get to have some cloud cover :)

That is one of the problems with having an electronic ballast, you get interference with other elctrical products. I've heard the main complaint is with cordless phones and causing interference with them. besides you should be watching your tank not your tv <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" />

I have had my Icecap for nine months, and never any trouble with electronics. Is is plugged into the same plug or cirict as your Tv/VCR? Is it a grounded plug?
Just a couple thoughts.

You can get noise filters from high end electronics stores and even radio shack. They plug into your outlet and then you plug your VCR, TV whatever into it. Should solve your problem.

Wally is right, you can get an outlet used for High Quality home vidoe and audio systems, they work great, they are used to filter the current for devices like $60000 projectors!!!
