is it just me or is icecap ballast pure junk? i bought 3 of them several years ago and none of them work, i am getting power to the bulb but none of them will start the lamps, the lamps are fairly new and all three worked when i had them up before, i switched to t5's because the lamps would start, stay on about 2 minutes and then shut off. got t'5 fixtures and put the ballast in storage, just getting them out to see if they work because i was going to sell them but none of them work now, is that why they are no longer in business?

Icecap has been around for YEARS... and for the most part were a great source of ballasts. I think your bulbs are the problem because you say that the sockets are getting power... and when the bulbs start they turn off in two minutes... this is basically called "cycling" ... because the bulbs are "old" or have a problem with them, they power cycle. I'd say replace your bulbs and you may find different results.
Don't use the cheapo bulbs either or else you might still have the same problem. Quality bulbs are just that... quality bulbs. Get used to spending a little money in the hobby. lol
