ich and inverts ?

My question is, if fish in a tank have ich, does the inverts get it also? Or if you don't have a big enough tank to house the fish and only have a few pcs of live rock in it, a sally lightfoot, a blue starfish, and three bumble bee snails...could you take out the sally, starfish and snails and put them in another tank then treat the fish with the drop in salinity? Or does the inverts carry the ich also? I am trying to learn about what carries it and what don't. Does the live rock carry it also..to save the rock to take it out and place it in another tank...or are you transfering ich to another tank? Hope these aren't stupid questions. Kelly

Ick is a fish-only disease so inverts do not get it. So, yes, you can place the inverts in another tank. Live Rock, however, can carry the ick over to another tank that has fish in it, so, no, live that has been exposed to ick cannot be placed in another tank that has healthy fish in it. Additionally, live will die when using hyposalinity. In the absense of fish, ick in any tank or rock will die off within a month.
