Ich and Oodinium outbreaks?

Hello to everyone in this forum.
I have a question as me and my LFS are out of answers. I have had my saltwater tanks for nearly 1 year now and never had any major problems. In the past 2 months I had an outbreak of ich which was followed by a bout of oodinium. I thought it was because of changes in temps as it is usually the case so I promptly treated with the recommended dosage of copper and bought a nice UV Sterilizer for the tank. Well, everything seemed fine for a while until a few days ago when I did a partial water change (25 gallons from my 180 gallon tank) and now some of the fish seem to have ich again. The copper levels in the water were 0 so I slowly started adding more copper and raised the temps a little bit (the temp was 82 F). Unknown to me as to how they can be getting infected so quickly after a small water change and even with the UV Sterilizer working for the last month and a half. Is it that common for ich and oodinium to appear and cover the fish quickly? I know this sounds like a newbie question but since I never had this problem before (or at least in the setup phase of the tanks) it worries me.
The water quality in the tank and from the tap (I have a water softener system for the house) is perfect.
Any hints, ideas, clues, etc will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ivan
