Ich and options for rreatment.

i just recieved my shipment and everything is great except the flame angel appears to have a couple spots of Ich. i placed the angel and a royal gamma in the QT and a few hours later i noticed the spots on the angel. i have a cleaner shrimp in my display. would it be likely that if a put him in the QT he would remove the spots and all would be fine or should i start a copper or hypo treatment? i'm against using copper at this point becouse i found a feather duster on the piece of LR in the QT. it is the first day and only a bout 10hours since i place the fish in the QT. is the shrimp idea viable?

Biological cleaners will only help out ridding fish of paraistes on the body, it can not and will not eliminate the total problem. Your best bet is hypo, as you have wisely already surmised.

my only reason for thinking the shrimp may work is that untill today the tank had no fish in it only one peice of LR, it has been running for 2 months. the spots were on the angel i recieved today, so i wouldn't think that the ICh would have the chance to exit the fist to began their next stage of life. so if the shimp goes in and cleans the spots all should be fine? right, theoreticly at least. and a side note forgive me spelling.

I guess there is a "chance" that that would be ok. If you are a risk taker, then you can take that chance.
So you have LR in the QT?

one piece of LR i bought it had a bunch of culpera, on it and i was planning on getting the flame angel so i figured that they would go together, for the few weeks that i QT'ed the fish and then move the piece of LR to the main tank. i may try the shrimp idea in the morning they didn't want to get caught tonight. and thankf for the help an other ideas would be help full. but i don't know how hypo would affect the LR and fetherduster that is on that piece of LR. i know copper is bad for the inverts but does it have negative effects on LR? and could i do a FW dip? or is that a last resort and posable death to me new and very beautiful fish i want to save. thanks again

yes, i have 2 clarkii clowns, and a bunch of inverts as well as 35 Lbs of live rock. this morning the bumps are gone. so the ich is in the water column.

Hypo seems to be my only option now. but i have a question about teh LR in the tank. could it be removed and placed in a container for a month then placed in to the display without transfering ICH? if not would Hypo kill the Macro algaes growing on the LR? :nervous:
