I just put my clown fish into QT after noticing signs of ich that all my fish got from a hippo tang now i believe all my fish have it i just have to catch the rest of them i know the safest method in curing ich is Hypo but the problem is i dont have a refractometer and i do not want to resort to copper treatment either because i dont know if they will or can survive that how bad is it if i attempt hypo with a normal hydrometer, or i heard that some ppl do freshwater baths but i really dont wanna take any chances..any helpfull suggestions ASAP would be greatly appreciated i have to save them!

You can go with a quality GLASS hydrometer. Or you can use the glass hydrometer to get down to hypo, while you order a refractometer and wait for it to arrive. They are pretty affordable now, and one of he best purchases a hobbyist can make.
No plastic swing arm type hydrometers.

Hypo works, but takes time and stress So my personal suggestion is to buy KORDON ICH ATTACK, which can be added directly to the main tank since it is 100% reef safe and won't destroy bio-balance so you don't even need to remove fish

In order to save another multi-page thread on Ich Attack, might I suggest that you do a search on this ineffective product and read the results.

I am aware of the threads posted that deem this product useless but it still works under certain conditions that are somewhat hard to manage. The following products are also reef safe and biodegradble and are very effective so once more, no need to catch fish and remove.
Fish vet NO-ICH
No more sick fish(an actual product)
Fish vet is 100% chemical free and safe and No more sick fish comes in a dropper bottle and only 1 drop treats 25 gallons but it is very expensive

I have to go with Geri Doc on this one. These products may control an Ich attack, but IMHO, will never eliminate Ich from your DT and could do harm.

Ok, what ever works, works. All I'm saying is some medications are safe on all fronts and I still encourage you to look up Fish vet then make your decision.

I went to their web site, and all it says is that Fish Vet No-Ich is a great product that will kill the parasite and not harm anything else. However, they don't provide any information about what's in the stuff, nor do they offer any data about its effectiveness. I once bought a bridge based on the sellers unsubstantiated assurances. The cop thought it was very funny when I tried to collect tolls on "my" bridge.
