Ich requires fish for a portion of its lifecycle. If your tank has no fish in it the ich will die off. One month is usually recommended. After that the tank should be ich-free. Your live rock and live sand will be fine.
You should consider setting up a quarantine tank so this does not happen again.
How were the fish treated? The moderators usually recommend either hyposalinity (preferred) or copper. Most other treatments have low success rates.

hi
i do not know. iam buying the tank off of another person.the fish are now in a qt tank and the main system has been fish free for about a month. iam (of course) breaking down the tank and will be seting up at my house. i just wanted to know if i could keep the live sand and live rock .so i quess that would be a yes and iam safe to go ahead setting up the tank as is.

You can keep/use the LR and Sand, just make sure it's been completely fish free for atleast 4-5 weeks to ensure all of the Ich is gone.
