Ich on my transferred fish.

Moved my last 2 fish into my new tank, a blue hippo and a longnose butterfly. both immediately got ich, went and got Kick Ich and double dosed every other day for a week. Got another tub of it, and started into week 2. The hippo has seemed to clear up, but yesterday my longnose stopped eating and went under the rocks. My wife just called and said its dead with 2 big brown spots on it. This is the first time Ive had ich in 2 years. Should I have been doing something else, and why did he go so quickly? He was acting fine just yesterday morning.

these meds can be very hard on fish, especially on very sensitive and fragile fish like BF's. run fallow (with no fish) in your DT for 6 weeks before introducing new fish, in the mean time, set up a QT tank and perform Hypo for any new introductions. the only way to beat ich is with Hyposalinity.

Thanks guys. What is fallow?
On a positive note, both clowns decided they were going to live in my anemone at the same time of BF death.
