ich question... this one is a little different

Ok so I may just be thinking about this logically and not biologically but bear with me.
Condition 1: Ich cannot live without a fish host
Condition 2: Healthy fish can fight off ich when present in the water.
Assuming both of these are true, and I've heard they are from multiple sources, will ich die off after 6 weeks with only healthy fish in the system?

No. Healthy fish can fight off the parasite but they still live long enough to reproduce. The fish will technically have ich, but it will be such a small amount that you dont see it.
