Ich question

I asked my local fish store to order a pearly jawfish and they did however when they got it in they told me that it currently has ich and that they are treating the fish with copper. they then said that it sould be a few days and i would be able to buy it. my question is should i buy it? can ich be cured in just a few days? I haven't had ich in my tank before and i really don't want it.

Personally I would pass on that fish. Ich cannot be "cured" in a few days with any treatment I am aware of. Howeer, if after a few days the fish is not showing any signs of ich you could alway buy it and Hypo it in a QT. Just seems a little risky to me.

If i was you I would quarantine the fish too

It deffinatly will take a month at least to cure an ich infected fish even if the copper med does work. Let the fish recover at the lfs and wait it out. If its still healthy after a month then u can think about buying it.
