Ich Questions

Hello,
I just have a few ICH questions.
1. Does ICH Stay in the tank affter the fish has been cured?
2. Will a freshwater Bath maybe cure ICH?
3. Does a QT have to be cycled before use?
Any help would be great..
This hobby gets more and more chalenging every day got to love it. lol

A fish can seem cured of ich but because of the lifecycle of ich, it may still be in your tank. A lot of treatments may seem to improve the fish, but the disease often will come right back. The only reliable treatments are hyposalinity and ich.
Freshwater baths will NOT cure ich. The trophonts bury into the slime layer of the fish and are protected from the freshwater.
A QT does not have to be cycled. However, obviously this is preferred. If it is not cycled, water quality needs to be monitored very closely. More frequent water changes and products such as Amquel can be helpful in this situation.
