ich treatment ?

I read a book called the "MARINE ATLAS" by Helmut Debelius and Hans A.baensch. And their method of curing ich is by lowering the s.g to 1.017 or 1.018 , then adding TETRA MarinOomed which is safe to invertebrates.
Will this work? Can i use the above method on my reef tank ?
And any other ways to treat a reef tank if you're unable to catch and remove the fish ?
