Ich

Is it not true that all Tangs are really ich prone. The best way to prevent ich i learned is to own a really good and strong
UV sterilizer. Also I had a really bad case of ich in my tank before and I QT them. But you are not likely to have to much success with saltwater fish, or at least it is hard to always have succes with curing your fish. UV does help greatly. I lost 3 yellow tangs and 3 henniochus (how-ever you spell that) . My tomato clown also had ich, his case was not to severe then I bought I nice UV and put the clown back in the tank because I was like forget it if he dies he dies. I know bad attitude, but you guys know frustration. The cool thing is that his ich disappered! I now have added a saddle back clown and a six line wrasse. Everyone is fine and enjoying themselves. What do you think, UV sterilizer helps or did I just have luck this time.

When I had a FO, I found a UV to be successful for me, but frankly I don't know how much I want to rely on it as a sure-fire thing, because it is not.
Your best bet is QT.

I am not saying rely on a UV sterilizer to cure ich but is pretty good at preventing ich. In fact I would never think that it could cure a infected fish. I was lucky that my tomato clown was healed. :D ;)

Yes, that is kinda how I felt about the UV when I was using it. Just keep an eye on the fish. Ich has a way of sneaking back up on you with ease.
