Is ich a result of poor water quality, or is it only transmitted through already infected fish?? I guess what I'm really asking is can ich arise in your tank once you have it fully stocked? Or do you need a new infected fish to bring it into the tank?? I hope you understand the question. Your fish can break out in ick at anytime that they get stressed out. If your water quality drops the can get ick. No you can get ick in a fully stocked tank that has been set up for years with out any new comers added to the tank. I hope this is what you ment.
