This may be a dumb question, but is the parasite Ich the same parasite Ich that affects freshwater fish? And if it is, why wouldn't the tablets "Ick Clear" work for SW? They have worked miracles in my goldfish and tropical fish tanks...cleared the parasite in less than 2 days. Just curious.

No they are not the same, except in appearance. Thus, hyposalinity works to cure saltwater ich, but would be totally useless on its freshwater counterpart.
