I wrote in a few days ago about my maroon clown with "shimmies" decided he was just being a "clown", but did have ich bust out in my tank. I'm bad, do not have hospital tank set up , but called my store where I like to go the best they suggested "Quick Cure", but I was unable to get there right away (they're an hour each way for me), so my husband thought he'd do me a favor and went to local store. They gave him "Copper Safe", he treated the tank. Nothing changed. I went to my regular store, got the Quick Cure, striped the copper out of water with poly filter (they said to do this), treated with Quick Cure and "Yippie", ich disappearing, fish eating, and the red algae is also gone!
I'm monitoring the nitrite/nitrate closely now, because of algae kill.
I had no live rock etc in tank, fish only. And am going to get a hospital tank set up for future. Realize that copper could stay in sand for awhile, but hey, everyone seems healthy now and happier. Lost one Potter's Angel , but just thought I'd pass this along.
Question though.....what killed the red slime? Copper or Quick Cure?
Thanks
