Ick and Leather frags

A friend of mine offered to give me some frags from a leather coral, he also just had an outbreak of ich, will the Leathers be effected? Should I hold off and wait it out?

Pretty much all corals are resistant to ick!

I can understand they may be immune to Ich, but could the desease travel on them into my tank, act like a carrier?

Thanks Sam. So it would seem my tank could get contaminated by a frag from a tank that had an outbreak.

If you want the frags and want to be 100% safe, than QT the frags for 4 wks. The liklihood of them carrying the parasite is small, but if you QT the specimen, then it should be fine. Your friend's tank will continue to have ich as long as there are fish in his tank, thus waiting for ich to clear to get these frags, would be pointless.
