I just read a post and it sounded like a pretty good idea for catching your fish. They said they cut the bottom of a 2 litter bottle and lowered it slowly into the tank. They let it sit there for awhile, and then put a little food in there. When the fish swam in to get the food they put a net over the end then lifted it out of the water. Sounded like a good idea. Don't know if it would work, but it would be alot easier than removing everything to catch the fish.

Could not really make out those pics too well. What is the "dirt" you are referring to? If it is those particle that looks like sand to me. I can assure it is not ick.
Ick is only visible on fish; you never see it anywhere else [least not with the ----- eye].

well I don't know how it is sand I havew overflows in the top tank and I am not sure what it is I haven't seen it in the year in half that it has been setup I just didn't know if it had anything to do with it

I know they are contriversial, but i would seriousy consider a UV sterolizer. Turn the thing on & let it run until the fish are well (maby longer).
I have saved many fish from ick with mine. I came home from vacation 1 time, and discovered my regal tang had ick so bad it looked like he had been diped in flour. Took him almost 3 weeks to recover. Thx Mr. UV :)
