I have had my tank running for 4 1/2 weeks. Water parameters look great. I have had a domino damsel in there for two weeks. I was planning on testing again this weekend and then replacing the domino with two clowns and a fire red blood shrimp. Unfortunately, the domino got "salted". He was breathing heavy and rubbing on the rockwork. Over the weekend my wife noticed it while I was away and medicated the tank with some liquid (it turned the water blue for a few hours). The fish looks better. I noticed him rubbing still but no visible spots. I am planning to finish up the instructions from the medication... apply again after 48 hrs then 48hrs later 25% water change.
Should I get the domino out of there ASAP? Should I hold off on new additions? Any other advice??
Thanks.

Was the stuff you added by chance Greenex? Or, another form of malakite (sp?) green? I recently did a round of that myself. For now all the fish are doing well. They are not scratching and I can't see any spots. I would not say the tank is cured at this point. I am not going to add anything to may tank for at least 4 weeks. Even then I will need to QT any additions.
If you remove all the fish to a QT tank, the ich will die within 4 weeks. At that point your tank will be "clean." Ich can't live without a host. The host must be a fish. It's can't be a crab or shrimp or other invert. If the fish is the only thing in the tank you can do Hypo in that tank while you wait to make any more additions. May or may not be easy depending on the size of your tank. You have some options and that is a good thing.
