ICK issue

Okay I came on before asking about any treatments. I went to the store and bought some stuff. Used it with great results.
Now. I buy all my fish from the same store. Im no longer going there because I brought home a blue spotted puffer 3 days ago and it now has spots on its fins. This is the 3rd fish from that store i have purchsed and it has grown ich.
Now my question is. Is it my tank? Does the Ick stay around? My trigger was cured and has been doing great since the last treatment which was around 2 months ago. No signs of ick at all. This new puffer is the first new animal I have introduced. I have started the process over in QT but what gives?

Puffers get it easier from what I understand. NO sure why it would come back since ick once it hatches swims around for a period of 24 hrs ( i think) then dies if it can not find a fish to hook on to.

This is incorrect, ich can live in your aquarium for a very long time as long as there are fish for it to feed off of. Even when you remove all of your fish it still can survive for a while (somewhere between 4-5 weeks). Here's a pretty good thread by beth, it should answer most of your questions about ich and how to treat it. Good luck! https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/127007/faqs-fish-diseases-treatments-quarantine-health-info
