ick medicine crisis

I have a 20 gallon community tank with ick, and im treating it with quick cure from ap aquarium products. Im not concern about my fish that much right now as the ick is going away fast, but instead im concerin about my own health. On the bottle it says this product contains a chemical known to the state of california to cause cancer. I have that tank in my room, wont the water dissolve and the chemical fuel will fill up in my room? and when i do water changes wont i come to a contact with the chemical? should i stop using this product? or am i worryin too much?
thanks

formalin is formaldehyde and it should be used with care...wear cloves, etc. It is a common medication in the hobby.
Also, formalin is not that effective for ich. Ich that appears to be going away could end up coming back due to the parasite's lifecycle. You may want to take a look at the write-up in the FAQ thread on this parasite, and treatments for it.
