ok i had a bad case of ick. it took my kole and my lemon peel tang. my blue damsel is still alive. (the one fish i want to die wont!) now i know that ick lives in the tank for so long, but if the other fish dosent have ick then is the disease still in the tank?

Yes.
You should probably search on the disease forum for a better answer, but it ismy understanding that ich survives wihtout a host for something like 30 days. so basically, wait at least one month since the last sighting of ich before you add anything else.

id do 45 days to be safe with no host and pick up the temp to 80 or 81 to speed up the cycle. thats providing you dont have anything else in there. corals are not much for high temps. in the future make sure you have a quarantine tank set up to diminsh the chances of infesting your display tank. good luck

I have used a product called "kick-ich". It works great, and no ill effects. I was told by LFS to use it, and they use it all of the time with no ill effects.
It attacks the swimming stage of ich, so it will rid the tank of it all.
