Ick

Hi,
I got the Ick disease in my tank. I used the Ick medicine from the store, but it was to late. All my fishes died except for one. So it has been about 2 weeks now, and I've done 2 water changes to try to remove some of the brown from the Ick medicine. How will I know when it is safe to add more fish.
thanks,

if the surviving fish is still in the tank with ich, remove it. the only fish i know of with a high immune are gobbies.
i would say, leave the tank fishless for at least 3-4 weeks. then when you begin to restock your tank, make sure you add garlic water to the food once and a while. there are garlic supplements you can buy also.
this is how i do it ....
i use frozen foods. put a cube (or desired amount) in a baby food jar with tank water. then i add about a teaspoon of garlic water (nothing but garlic cloves soaking in water). allow the cube to disolve and voila!
HTH :D
