Ick????

Is this true about ick? I have heard that some fish carry ick all the time, And it is released when a fish's
immune system is weakend from stress or other problems.
Everybody please give me your input.

Ich is a fairly prevelent parasite and you could say that most fish "carry it" and that it can and does become a problem with captive fish.
Whether every single fish actaully carries ich, I don't know that we can say that with absolute certainty. Like anything, when a fish is stressed or compromised, whatever ailments they may have become very problemmatic due to the stress.
