Hi what is ick and how do you get rid of it? And please evryone no more criticizing, i'm just a beginner, trying to learn. And i forgive evrything else I have done. I have a 55 gallon tank, no 250, or 300 gallons. I just said that so you would give me advice not criticise me. So if you find it in your hearts to forgive me and help me out I would be most grateful.....

Why you stay around then? Anyways, I'm here to get help and give advice. Ick is a white parasite that appears on fish and eats the fish until they die. There are several ways to get rid of it. Kick Ick is a good way since it is reef safe. Another way is if you have a hospital tank is to move the fish there and use a copper treatment. Another way is to drop your salt level but I don't like that way.

No problem. I never saw your other posts but you got the others mad somehow. Anyways I'm not here to argue because someone is making their tank the way they want it. I make suggestions and if they don't listen it is their choice. Its all trial and error. So what do you really have for a set up and do you think you have ick? Do a search at the top right corner on ick and you will find tons of info. You might want to invest in a cleaner shrimp.

They first got mad because I had to many questions. Then they thought I was a troll. But my 55 gallon tank has 20 gallons of live rock. A 3 in. Niger Triggerfish, a 4 in. painted parrotfish, a 4in. panther grouper,a 5 1/2 in. Blonde Naso Tang, and my Adult Emperor Angelfish which is about 5 in. The emperor I just put in 2 days ago. He is the one who has ick.

What color is you emperor? Is it blue with white stripes? If it is an adult it is already too big. When they are an adult they need a 180+ gallon tank. You do have a crowded tank. No surprise with the emperor having ick. They are prone to getting it. Getting a cleaner shrimp would be a wise investment. Do you have a hospital tank? A hospital tank would make treating him a lot easier.

It is an adult about 4 or 5 in. I do have a hospital tank, do you know any way to get my angel to eat because he has never ate the flake, live, and frozen. He eats the algae of the live rock.

Can't get too much worse. What he did was impulse buy. Trigger, did you get all of these fish from a LFS? If so you HAVE to take some back or they WILL die off. Wouldn't you rather get your money or some of it back and save a fish's life? With the money you have put into these fish you could get some great features. Saltwater takes time. I can help you and anyone can help you as long as you are willing to accept the mistakes and fix them before it is too late. Are you going to work with us or against us?
