ICK?

How long does ick last and will it just go away evertime I get a fish from my LFS and put it in my tank it gets ick like symptoms... scratching on the rocks white like salt on there fins and it goes away with in a few days and hasn't reappeared could this be anything other than ick and if I need a hospital tank what size should I get for a Yellow Tang and two damsel <img src="graemlins//freak.gif" border="0" alt="[freak]" />

I would recommend a hospital tank for your new and infected fish. This tank can be very basic. I would say that you only need about a ten gallon with a hang on filter. It is not that bad to have this tank small. This way if there are any questions about fish compatibility you can try them out in your hospital tank. If they are okay in the small enviroment than they will be fine in your tank. Lastly, you need to treat your sick tank with some type of ick fighting medication. I recommend a product called KickIck. Probably found at your LFS. It is somewhat expensive but it works great. You usually leave the new fish or infected fish in the tank for two weeks.
