I bought this about a year ago and it is not what the fish store said it was. It has done well and just would like to know more about it. They were going out of bus. so I didn't get to reasearch it like I normally would. Anybody got any ideas? PS it is under MH.

my stalks are not as long as yours, no more than a 1/4 inch if that. yes it covers a round rock, it has some recession over some time before I got it. It has a small clam attached in it also.
Thanks, I thought maybe that is what it is but my stalks never looked like pics I have seen on the web. It is suppose to be hard to keep. Mine seem happy though.

Actually, it looks more like a Alveopora to me. Similiar to the Gorgonian but much more hardy.
Edit: ATTML, Looks like you beat me to it

I dont know what it is, but it is not an alveopora or gonipora. Too many apendages per polyp.

To many fingers per polyp for alveopora and goniopora. Try getting a picture with the polyps closed so we can see the skeleton its growing. That should put things to rest.

I don't believe it is a alveopora...but its possibly a encrusting type of goniopora. I had one a few years ago that did well for about a year. It also may be a type of tubinaria...but I'm not real sure.
