ID Needed. Cowrie Species.
My crappy camera cant get a pic... I tried fer like 2 hours. ARGH !
description:
White shell. has a tanish small circle at anterior and posterior ends of shell a mm in diameter where the slipper foot attaches to.
Flesh is PURE WHITE with small BLACK Polka-dots on the flesh that covers mantel and the foot. It has 2 eyestalks and a radula round shaped mouth like an astrea snail. it is 1/2 inch long shell.
At time of discovery, it was hiding in a yellow leather. it had migrated to another finger leather a few days later.
I lost the yellow leather a few days ago in a customers tank, but I dont believe the cowrie was the culprit as the tank had a nitrate spike over 100 PPM unexpectedly.
Is this lill bugger Reef Safe or not?
I have already yanked it and its all "hemmed up" in a 2.5 gal "prison" nano tank.
I cant find anything in my books as to ID or habitat, or diet.
damn it. I hate it when I can't ID crap. Im usualy quite good at it.
anyone?

im not so sure youve got a cowrie. if it has visible eyestalks, then again im not sure, but as kickster said cowries are not good. teh only reef safe on is the money cowrie, all other are bad biz. a pic would def help!
good luck
