ID on hawk fish.....pic

my new hawk fish! anyone know what kind it is? it's about 1.5 in long and very fat! got him for 6 bucks. it was just labeled "hawk fish" so i don't know :notsure:

I think SWF has the picky misidentified ( right name, wrong photo ). I think that fish and arsen's is a C. falco

what can i keep with it in a ten gallon that will eat hair algea?

looks most like a c. falco, AKA falco's hawkfish

IMO, a 10 g. is too small for the hawkfish so dont put anything esle in there and I recomend takeing it back, Sorry.
Anything that is proper for a 10 g would probly be pestered by that hawk. Maybe a Clown goby but still risky I think.
I know this may not be what you want to hear but its just what I think.

It could be a spotted hawk. They grow kinda large and are not suited for a 10 gallon. WHen it is bigger they can be quite the bully and will even eat small fish. Trade him in and get a clown goby and a firefish or something else suitable for a nano. They also can be predatory on just about any crustacean.

wow! they eat smaller fish? now i realy realy don't want to send him back! i won't put anyother fish in the tank if i can't. i'll let him keep to himself. anyway what type if fish do i feed him when he gets to about 2.5 in ?

They don't need to eat fish, but if one small enough presents itself, they might not pass it up. And it really will outgrow your tank.
