ID on my LR

I just picked up my first peices of LR today at my LFS. They had just gotten them overnighted from their supplier so they had a ton of life on them. So after staring at them for like an hour straight I started to notice little "branch" like things on it. Anyone know? And any chance they'll survive? Oh it's Solomon Island LR if that matters!

They are called foraminiferans and are harmless filter feeders. They are pretty common in tanks, and will probably survive if you have good water quality.
