ID please never seen this before?
I posted it with inverts as I think its one?
when I saw it in the store I thought it was some sort of sponge or coral (people I bought it from dont speak any English) but when I put it in my tank it started walking/floating/swimming around?
Can anyone tell me what this is?

Feather starfish
Time to start doing a lot of research, most of these guys starve in captivity. Good luck.

i saw one exactly like that at my LFS only bigger. heard they need a lot of care, like good water quality and zooplankton, kinda like NPS corals

Definitely a feather star, and even the ones that do eat usually starve.
As mentioned, bump up your zooplankton population (a good way is to feed GOOD quality live phytoplankton to the tank which will in turn feed the zooplankton). Also, try one of the reef foods that contain cyclopeeze (such as Roger's) or even frozen cyclopeeze. < 24 hr old live BBS might be beneficial as well (you'll need to hatch them).

Despite heavy feedings, ours lasted about 8 months. I have heard that they only live a couple years in the wild and obviously I have no idea how old it was when we got it. They are facinating to watch but it was very sad to see it waste away. Personally, I will never get another one. Yours is beautiful with the multi colors and I love your pink tube!!
