i was looking on a rock and saw a white anemone looking thing.it has clear tentacles,a white body,i can see a mouth.at first i thought i had a baby anemone but then i touched it with a turkey baster and it closed real fast.it almost looks like it goes in the rock but im not sure?????

Yep....sounds like aiptasia.

you sure its aptaisha?ive never seen a white one like this???do they come in white?

They come in different shapes, colors and sizes. A pic would help for a definite ID.

i really dont think its aiptashia because it doesnt even have a stem or anything.its just got a small base

yea but a closes at daytime...and it doesnt have a stem

Can you get a pic? Does it look similar to any of those pics posted? Maybe add what the base looks like it retracts to.

the base looks flat and ive seen aiptashia before and it doesn look like it.when close all you can see is its mouth and theres like a piece of rock that branches off and has the same roundness as it does and the thing doesnt have a base like the pics it actuall is like in the rock

it could be a type of feather duster i have alot of little ones in my tank...if it dont have a base i would say some type of feather duster

yep its a duster i have alot in my rocks just all you see is the head popping out of the rock

and it comes out at night
