I know its is a type of acorpora or so i have been told but does anyone know what type it is? Or if it even one? Or any clue on what it needs. I got it in with my new tank and dont know if it needs more light then whats it has or if it needs anything else special.

It is an acropora, but it's too small to make a good ID on species. Grow it out for a few months then ask again. It should have metal halide lights and prestine water conditions.
Also, has the white area near the right side always been there, or is that new?

I dont know about small the thing is like 5" and has multi layers.IF you are talknig abot what whole thing or the branch thats sticking out? The spot has been there since i got it. I might move it over to my 29 gal for a while its has alot of light. 4-75 vhos on it ill move it up almost to the top and it should be fine.

Yes he means the branch part... it's near imposable to ID some acro's w/o seeing the growth pattern of the branches and corallite's... even then some are still very tricky.
What lighting is it currently under??

right now its under 370 watts of PC. But i am gonig to move it to my 29 with 300 watts of vho. and it will be like 8 inches from the light. IS that good or what? Im waiting on my MH. the guy that i got it from had it in the tank and had it for some time.
