I bought a peice of live rock and it had what the LFS called polpos on it.

Yes

Similar to zoos(zoanthids/zoas). Large variety if colors and sizes.

To be a bit more specific they are protopalythoas, same thing, but a bit bigger. I have some exactly like yours.
