ID please

noticed these things today on the back of my tank, shaped like nautilus shells, white, very small, about the size of the tip of a pencil
they are stuck to the glass, when i poked them with a stick, they eventually fell off the glass since they are only on the back wall, i cant take a picture, there is about 10 of them that i counted, not moving, but i sure didnt put them there, some for of hitchhiker

They are good guys...they eat algae, and come out at night as a rule, in the day they hide on the rocks or anywhere else they think they are unseen. Under Power heads, and behind intake valves. Trust me there are many more than 10

what are they called? are they a type of snail or what? i saw a piece of LR covered in them, still curious as to what they are even if they are good

Will come and go with available nutrients. If there is too many you can just scrape them off the glass. Good filter feeders. Enjoy them!
