this was on my friends live rock and he was getting out out of the hobby so i took the rock and put it in my old 30 gallon does any one what the coral is and is it alive??

first of all from what i see...its not a coral although it can look like one but its a sponge..there good for the tank yup yup

I did not know that was a sponge but I know that one of my freinds had it on their rock and if it stays alive it turns to a nice white color. Definately a good thing to have. Doesnt really do anything except make the live rock look cool.
