Sure looks like aiptasia...I'd suggest a search here on the forums for additional info...they can become a major pest if not kept under control. They pack a powerful sting that can cause damage to corals and they can rapidly expand and take over a system if left un-checked.
Wow, I have one thats almost an inch across, looks like the last pic. That too big??? I seen some at a LFS but it was clear-er and it was only a 1/4" MAX. Any ideas ?
BTW my big one has NOT multiplied if that helps?!?!
I bought a LR almost completely covered in them. They bloom when the light is on and close up when the light is off. They look pretty cool. They haven't seemed to multiply any and don't seem to be hurting the tank.
I saw someones tank with about 6 of them on one piece of LR. He said they had been there about a year and had not spread or were any kind of pest.
Have people been unfair to aiptasia all this time?
Thank you guys for all your answers... i'm still not sure on what i should do with it.
i'll leave it alone for the moment but it they spreding.... i know what i need to do and if they do not.... i do too.
Thanks again.

If you want to keep other corals or mushrooms then the aiptasia will kill them off.
If you have a fish only tank then they are harmless. Pesronally, I have a bunch in my fish only tank and I just leave them alone.
