Id Pleaseeeeeeee!!!

Hubby and I saw the coolest fish yesterday at our lfs and I want to buy it online but can't remember the name. It was almost flat on the bottom. We could not even see the fish because he looked identical to the sand BUT his eyes were popped out of the sand looking around, it was a riot!! When we bothered him he jumped and buried himself in another spot, you could not see him again. Even when he is on the sand, his color was identical to the sand and he looked like part of the tank. what is it!!! thanks all!

i catch flounder on the sound, and during low tide you can catch them with your hands or a net about 4 inches. Its awsome. If they didnt get so big i would want one.

Are the eyes on one side only, close together and looking pretty much straight up? If so, it's a flounder or a sundial.

probably a flounder. my lfs sells them all the time. i dont see how they a re practical for a home aquarium unless your tank is huge with little rock work. these guys like to be burried in the sand all the time. and if the conditions are right they get huge. the only reason i know is cause ive caught huge ones. imo id rather eat them than stare at them
