We bought a nice piece of live rock about a month ago. We had noticed a strange little critter on it (can't find it now) and don't know what it is. It is very very small. It hides out in the rock crevass and looks like a tiny jelly fish that got shoved in the rock and only the tenticles stick out, some squiggly some hair like. At times, it looks like spider webs.

I don't think so. This one was clear & white and didn't seem to have so many tenticles. It would wave them out and stick it to the rock and it looked like pulses of white debri being tunneled to its center from what looked like a spider web. Creeeepy.

I think they are all similar though, from the sound of it. There are several similar types of worms, along with things like vermetid snails, that produce this "spider web" that captures food.
