What is this? Can anyone ID this please? I got it when I was buying LR at the LFS. Sponge, leather coral?

It looks like sponge to me, is it porous? if it is then it is a sponge.

No, it doesn't have any porous. Thats the weird thing about it. Its kinda soft.
